LEE UEN-JI FINISHES THIRD IN WOMEN’S 200M BACKSTROKE TO WIN SOUTH KOREA’S FIRST MEDAL IN WOMEN’S BACKSTROKES IN 25 YEARS

Lee Eun-ji (17-Bangsango) won her first medal at the Asian Games. Lee finished the women’s 200m backstroke final in 2:09.75 at the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games Aquatics Management event at the Hangzhou Olympic Sports Centre pool in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, China, on Saturday. While training for the Asian Games, Lee was diagnosed with frostbite after undergoing cryotherapy treatment in late August .The injury came at a time when she needed to increase her training intensity, and she was under a lot of pressure. “It was an unexpected injury, but I tried to overcome it well,” she said. “I resumed training nine days after the injury, and that’s how I competed at the Asian Games.
