The ’32-team system’ will host the 2025 Club World Cup in the U.S
The United States has been selected as the venue for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, the first to be held with a 32-team system.
FIFA made the decision at a council meeting at its headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland, on the 22nd local time.
Earlier, FIFA decided to upgrade the Club World Cup, which was contested by six continental club competition champions and host league winners every year, to a tournament involving 32 teams once every four years.
The United States is also the co-host of the 2026 North-Central American World Cup with Canada and Mexico.
