Cristiano Ronaldo (Al Nasr) has finally lost his temper with the Portugal national soccer team.
‘Ronaldo appeared to be furious after the shock defeat, and he was overcome with rage,’ the Daily Star reported on Nov. 27 (ET).
The Portugal national soccer team, led by Roberto Martinez, lost 0-2 in a friendly match against Slovenia at the Stojice Stadium in Ljubljana, Slovenia, on Nov. 27. Portugal’s head was down after back-to-back goals from Adam Gnezda Cheryn in the 27th minute and Timi Elshnik in the 35th minute. It was Portugal’s first loss since the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and their first under Martinez. Ronaldo played the full game, but didn’t score the expected goal.
As the Daily Star put it,

Ronaldo hasn’t been recognized by his teammates lately either. João Cancelo (FC Barcelona) recently said, “The national team doesn’t depend on him. Ronaldo is an important player. He has spent 15 years competing with Lionel Messi. But I think the peak of a footballer’s career is between the ages of 25 and 32. He’s an important player for us. But the national team is not completely dependent on him.”
Meanwhile, Portugal will kick off their Euro2024 campaign in June. The Daily Star says: ‘It will be the last major tournament Ronaldo will play in. He is expected to play second fiddle to Gonzalo Higuain (Paris Saint-Germain).
